Review week 7!

This new day thing is messing me up! I tell myself on Tuesday, I have another day before I have to post and then wednesday comes and goes and it is Thursday night and I remember! Sorry to double up for today!

Even thought we had some snow/rain action last week, I was able to go out and enjoy the weather! It was nothing as exciting as turning your tv outside and doing a dvd. I walked. And thought. and it was wonderful.

I have been working with the sparkpeople app for my phone and ipad. I have a spark people account and I love the looks of it but need to be more diligent in using it. :)

I took a week off...

From blogging, but not from working out!

I apologize for not blogging last week, I had an off week with the computer, I didn't even write on My Thoughts and Treasures! So don't take it personally!

By the way my new day to blog is Thursday, so I'm not late this week! ;-)

Alrighty! Last week I should have told you about week 6 challenges, which were to do something you've been avoiding and focus on portion sizes.

I totally aced it. Kind of.
I ran again, which I had been avoiding! And I did more pull ups, which I've also been avoiding.

As for the portion sizes, I tried to be aware and eat what my body actually needs, and not over-stuff myself. I didn't follow any real guidelines, but I did eat slower and stopped once I began to feel full.
I felt great! Not sluggish or overstuffed. It was nice. I'm trying to keep that up :-)

And now for the week 7 update:

I had a hard time finding an app that I liked, but after a while I got the "Fooducate" "Ab Workouts free" and "Jillian Michaels Slim-Down Solution" I haven't used them all yet, but I played around with the Ab one and did some of those workouts.

And I worked out outside! I only did it once, but I did it!
and I helped David, dad and JoAnn move, which was a workout :-)

I'll do my best to not skip a week blogging again! It helps me to stay motivated, and hopefully it helps to motivate you :-D

How are you doing so far this week?
Already I haven't used the stairs everyday... oops!

Challenge week 8.

New Here?

Each week we get 2 new challenges. Always a physical and then either an emotional or nutritional one. Challenges are posted and started Sunday. They go through Saturday. Next time you blog, tell us how you did! Be honest! Do good? Do bad? How do you feel?

Physical Challenge:

We all have access to stairs in our life, so everyday this week go up and down until you feel the burn or are tired.

Nutritional Challenge:

Eat three servings of leafy greens this week. Mix it into something. Have a salad, juice it but whatever you do make sure you do it three times this week!

Week 6 review!

I like Amber had an off week this last week. Stressed at work made me not concentrate enough on the challenges as I usually do. Sad, I know. I'm doing better this week already though! (I'll share the details next week!)

New Day!

Well, we all switched our blogging days, I now have Tuesday and I'm really excited about it! Mondays (my old blogging day) were really busy for me and I had a difficult time getting a post done on time, so now it should be easier (hopefully!). I didn't do the challenges :( and I only officially did one workout... so I kinda stunk at everything this week. Chantel and I Skyped Helena to workout on Monday but the internet connection was 'bad' and Helena couldn't finish it with us, the computer said it was on our end, but I wouldn't put it past Helena to somehow be behind it!

My Dad, Stepmom and younger brother moved this past week, so I did a ton of heavy lifting and running up and down stairs. Man all of that definitely counted for a few workouts! Something that was interesting, I have noticed that my stamina keeps getting better and better! I didn't get out of breath or get tired and I really was running around a lot. Before I really started getting in shape, there was no way I could have done that! So yay me!

Dance, dance, dance!

I did it!
I danced around for 15 minuted twice last week!
I did chores while I was dancing, it was fun! and I got cleaning done. Which was much needed.
I would highly recommend it and I will be doing it again :-)

And I did things that made me feel accomplished and fulfilled too!
I organized under my bathroom sink, and in our storage closet and by our bookshelves! I felt great after getting that done. And I got to make some jewelry which is always a plus :-)

And I wanted to share this video with you, because it's adorable.

What has made you feel fulfilled this week?

Review! Challege week 5!

Me dancing this week and jimmy looking at me wondering what I am doing.

Well, The 1st one was easy because I LOVE listening to music when I clean. Me and Pandora are really close in that way. Check mark #1!

Doing something that makes me feel accomplished. Well, my house did not look to bad this wee because of my dance party in the kitchen and that always makes me feel good. The other thing is I am learning math again! (not by choice) but, I have a wonderful teacher (jimmy) and I am actually doing problems right! That is making me feel accomplished especially since I can't use a calculator!

How was your week?

Challenge week 6!

New Here?

Each week we get 2 new challenges. Always a physical and then either an emotional or nutritional one. Challenges are posted and started Sunday. They go through Saturday. Next time you blog, tell us how you did! Be honest! Do good? Do bad? How do you feel?

Physical Challenge:
Try something you've been avoiding: push ups, sit ups, pull ups, running or anything, and do it 3 times this week.

Nutritional challenge:
Look for portion sizes. For example, one serving of pasta is 1/2 cup of cooked pasta. Most restaurants serve 4 times that much! Be aware of the portions you are eating and try to stay in the guidelines.

Feeling Better

This last week, I have been feeling much better but after doing level 2 of the 6 week six pack, I have decide I'm not doing well enough! After I was done with that workout, I thought I might have died... but unfortunately it was not meant to be and I was still very much alive and kicking. Because level 2 is a lot of intense cardio and I am still very stuffed up, I decided that I should take a brake form the six week 6 pack... because I can't breath when i'm doing it :( but don't worry as soon as my nasal passages are up to it, I will start right back up! So my workout week wasn't as strong as normal but I still got three workouts done (6 week six pack, a resistance band workout and a pilates with a stability ball workout) and a half hour game of laser tag! So I was able to complete the physical challenge of keeping your heart rate up three times this week for a half hour! The nutritional challenge wasn't as successful. I had some fruit (I had a bowl of fruit on the counter that I purchased but most of it wasn't ripe.... which put a damper on the whole eating it thing) so most of my fruit was in dessert form... Crapes with cream cheese filling, stuffed with strawberries and toped with whipped cream (home made of course), chocolate covered strawberries (also home made) and some cantaloupe (not a dessert and not homemade). I feel pretty good about how I did overall, even with all the desserts :)

My heart was pounding

I aced the keep the heart rate up challenge!
We did a difficult and fun workout with resistants bands, I played raquetball, played laser tag with the family Friday night for Davids birthday, and Michael and I played again the next day at trafalga as well as rock climbed on the wall they have there.

See? I did prreetttyyy well.

As for the fruit, I didn't do so good.

I had fruit two days last week... but I did have veggies everyday! If that makes up for it at all? We ran out of fruit, and I kept meaning to go shopping, but I didn't make it.

I'm excited to dance around a couple times this week!
I haven't done it yet, but I will.

I missed the workout on Monday because my womanly times are causing some intense pains, and I had a very crappy time in my writing class. I just wasn't up for it.

Thanks for understanding guys, and thanks for the cheering up Annie.
You guys are awesome!

Since Annie told you what was tempting her, I'll tell you mine too:
Don't you just love these?
Cause I do.

Review of the weekly challenge

An apple a day keeps the........husband sickness away! I made sure to keep up on my fruit intake this week. Mostly apples, and citrus. Jimmy has been sick for almost two weeks now which is not normal for him. I have been trying to avoid it and so far so good. I think our fruit challenge helped!

Heart rate. I did it!

Tuesday we helped friends move and that was a workout! I was exhausted! I count that as two because we were there fro 3 hours and 1/2 the time I was sweating and breathing hard! The next day I worked out with the girls and that was another hard workout. We also did laser tag which was not as strenuous but still fun to run around.

Current Temptation:

Easter candy!! Arrgghhh...

Challenge week 5!

New Here?

Each week we get 2 new challenges. Always a physical and then either an emotional or nutritional one. Challenges are posted and started Sunday. They go through Saturday. Next time you blog, tell us how you did! Be honest! Do good? Do bad? How do you feel?

Physical Challenge:

Dance. It keeps your heart rate up, burns calories, and it's fun! Put on some fun music and dance around your house, or go to a club, or invite people over for a dance party! Which ever you choose, do it for no less than 15 minutes and do it at least 2 times this week.

Emotional Challenge:
Find Fulfillment,
Do something this week that makes you feel fulfilled, it could be having a clean house, or not doing any cleaning, reading a book or going out to dinner. whatever it is make it happen tis week, you deserve it!

Sorry I'm a day late!

So Amber says she's super sick, can't get out of bed and everything...
But I don't know, she looked too good on her birthday dinner on Sunday to really be sick.

I think she just wants to impress us with saying she's sick and still working out more than anyone.

Nice try Amber, I'm on to you though...

Just kidding, I hope she gets better soon!

I did well with the trying a new workout, because we all did it together.
It wasn't the awesome jazzercise I wanted to do, but it was almost as cool.

I didn't have any sugary drinks last week!
But I rarely do so I don't know if that's as impressive as it sounds.

I haven't entirely decided what my theme will be, but I plan on printing it out and keeping it in my room where I will see it daily -maybe on my dresser.

I'm deciding between something like "Procrastination is the thief of time" or "Work Harder to Play Longer" They are pretty self explanatory, and basically mean that most days I feel like time gets away and I don't have enough of it, but if I get things done right away (like working out, organizing, making a healthy meal), and don't put it off, then I'll have more time for things like making jewelry and reading and doing the things I want to do.

But after last nights workout I'm thinking I might just make my theme "You make your own choices."

Anyway, I'll let you know next week, or later this week, when I finally decide. :-)

Short and Sweet!

Challenge # 3. Very short. Just got home! (Late)

3 checks!

New exercise?CHECK!

Less sugar more water? CHECK!

Theme? CHECK?

My theme is I can do hard things. I made a little poster, framed it and it is in my office. It fits me well when I am super tired and would rather sleep than work! (I'll take a pic later this week!)

Annie, age 29

About Annie

With everything I am responsible for at home, my ridiculous work schedule and my health problems, it makes it hard to keep working out on the front burner. But when I heard about this blog, I thought 'why not!'. I'm excited to get started and hopefully I won't die of exhaustion when this is all over!

Heléna, age 26

About Helena

I can't fit into my clothes! After getting married and being forced to eat my own cooking, I started gaining weight. The desk job didn't really help. I gained 30 lbs in the past year, and I can really feel it when I try to get dressed in the morning. I am really good at starting diet and exercise programs; but really bad at finishing them. And that's all about to change...
