It's my birthday week

Hey guys! This is my first blog post as a 23 year old :-D

It may be my birthday week, but rest assured, I'm still working hard. :-)

Well, without further ado, this is how I did last week:
I did the Ripped in 30 twice
I got my heart rate up for more than twenty minutes three times. One of those times was from dancing around my apartment! I love dancing. It's such fun.
aaannd I pampered myself a little. I was going to go get my nails done because I never do that, but it got postponed to this week, and it's being postponed again. Instead I took a relaxing bath and bought myself a new shirt.

How did you guys do? What did you do to get your heart rate up? and what did you do to pamper yourself?

Season 4 Challenge 6

SORRY GUYS! I'll do better next week. Promise.

In case you are new:

Each week we are given two challenges. These challenges will start on Sunday and go through the following Saturday.

On our designated blogging days we'll let each other know how we did with the previous weeks challenges!

BE HONEST. If you failed the challenge, tell us why. If you rocked it, tell us how. Most importantly, tell us how you feel about it.

Since I'm a day late in posting this I decided to choose challenges that don't have to be done everyday

This week's challenges:

Physical: Lets kick it up a notch! In addition to doing Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30 DVD on level 3 twice this week, also do another workout DVD of your choice at least once!

Nutritional: Don't miss a meal! It can be hard with all of the many tasks we have during the week to keep up with nurturing our bodies. So this week eat breakfast, lunch and dinner for at least 2 days this week. Give yourself an extra point if you do it for at least 4 days!

AND remember our continual challenge this season is to do the Ripped in 30 DVD twice each week.

Good luck!

I'm late, I'm late...

For a very important blogging day!

Well, better late then never, right? (cough, cough, Helena, cough, cough)

I also aced the challenges last week!
I did four meals without sugar (actually more than that...)
And I did my two workouts outside. At first I thought I hadn't aced that one, but then I remembered that I played outside with my nieces and I walked to and from the Strawberry Days fair, as well as walking around the fair. My little brother David and I walked by every booth!

I also did the Ripped in 30 DVD twice last week... Amber and Annie made me do it twice in one night!
It was very intense.

Are you guys enjoying the weekly challenges? I'm thinking of making us do something crazy!

Time Is Flying

This season has been flying, this is our last week on level 2 of 'ripped in 30!' and i'm a tiny bit scared to move on the the harder levels but it will definitely be interesting one way or another.
This past week I was able to do the challenges, I made sure to eat 4 meals dairy free and I also exercised outside twice. I thought we were supposed to workout outside three times, so I made sure to get 3 workouts in (so I really aced the challenge!) here is what I did-
I mowed the lawn twice, one day I did the front yard (takes about a half hour) and a few days later I did the back (it takes about an hour and a half). Let me tell you, mowing the lawn is a huge workout, it incorporates cardio and strength all in one sweaty package.
I also spent a day outside building benches at my Dad's house with my husband, brother and Dad.

How did you guys do this week?

Review week 4

Don't freak out. I know right? It's Wednesday, my day to blog and I actually am doing it on time!!! Not only that......I did both challenges! (You fainted right?)

I went for a walk with my residents outside and I also did flier's for work one day!

And.....I was a vegetarian! (Salads at work)

Wow! I'm amazed....:)

Good week!

(Ohh and I did level 1 once, and level 2 twice.)

Season 4 Challenge 5

In case you are new:

Each week we are given two challenges. These challenges will start on Sunday and go through the following Saturday.

On our designated blogging days we'll let each other know how we did with the previous weeks challenges!

BE HONEST. If you failed the challenge, tell us why. If you rocked it, tell us how. Most importantly, tell us how you feel about it.

Since I'm a day late in posting this I decided to choose challenges that don't have to be done everyday

This week's challenges:

Physical: Sweat more! This week find at least three 20 minute windows in which you can sweat more. Whether it's picking up the pace as you shop, dancing in the kitchen as you cook, or walking in place as you watch t.v.; whenever you do something physical make it count. And let us know what fun creative ways you came up with to sweat!

Emotional: As the weeks go on we need to remember why we're doing this, and we need to work on not getting discouraged. If you miss some challenges, that's okay! Just keep going. So this week do something to pamper yourself. Do something that makes you feel pretty, relaxed and happy. Whether it's taking a bath, getting your hair done or buying the outfit that makes you look good (I take no responsibility if husbands get upset with this challenge). Whatever you do make sure you appreciate it, and make sure it's something special that you don't normally do.

AND remember our continual challenge this season is to do the Ripped in 30 DVD twice each week.

Good luck!

Week 3 review!

I'm hanging my head low today........

I did not wear heals. (I don't own any for fear of falling on my face.)

I did not write a time capsule letter. :(

I did do my video workout. But I did not do level two till this week. (I'll tell you about that torture in the next post....)

Busy, busy, busy!

This week I have been so incredibly busy with work that I haven't been able to workout with Bryn at all, and I haven't done a workout DVD since Monday... which would be normal if this was any of our other seasons, but since I've been working out at least 3, but usually 4, times a week so far it's weird.

However, I still count work as a workout, what with all my lifting bottles, running around and staying on my feet as we fill a big order in the clean room.

But, I'll update you about last week :-)
I did the Ripped in 30 twice! Once was level two, and once was level one.

I wrote my time capsule letter, and I wore the heals!

As a side note, I can tell I'm getting stronger! For a jewelry photo shoot I did (where people were modeling the jewelry I've made) one of the girls that came brought her almost 6 month old baby, at one point her little girl was crying and so I offered to hold her. She was an adorable chunky baby. I held her for more than 30 minutes and my arms didn't even begin to get tired!

It's cool when we can not only see results but also feel them.
Have you guys noticed you're getting stronger, or that you have more endurance?
I noticed I have more endurance as we did both level one and level two on Monday

Together

Last week I did pretty well, though I only did the 'ripped in 30' once. I ended up getting a pretty bad sunburn last week and the pain prevented me from doing the workout again :( I did however wear heels twice and wrote my time capsule letter! So far i'm rocking these challenges!

In other news, I got Dave to workout with me! I have seriously asked him every time I have worked out for the past 3 years and finally he agreed! I was shocked, I did not expect him to say yes (because he never does!) He has worked out with me twice now and we have really been enjoying it! We did one workout dvd that he really liked and was fun but he also tried the 'ripped in 30', I think he has found a whole new respect for me after doing it (he hated that workout!). I don't think I will be getting Dave to do anymore Jillian Michaels DVDs with me but I'm sure he will be up for a few of my less crazy workouts!

Season 4 Challenge 4

In case you are new:

Each week we are given two challenges. These challenges will start on Sunday and go through the following Saturday.

On our designated blogging days we'll let each other know how we did with the previous weeks challenges!

BE HONEST. If you failed the challenge, tell us why. If you rocked it, tell us how. Most importantly, tell us how you feel about it.

This week's challenges:

Physical: Do at least two twenty-minute workouts outside this week! The weather is supposed to be nice and warm, so lets take advantage of it and get some natural Vitamin D!

Nutritional: This week we are each going to incorporate another persons diet!  Continue maintaining your specific diet, and in addition we will each have to follow a specified persons diet for at least four meals over the course of two days. Share at least one recipe you tried in which you incorporated the new diet

Amber, this week you will try Chantel's diet of no dairy
Annie, this week you will try Amber's diet of no meat
Helena, this week you will try Annie's diet of no simple carbs
Chantel, this week you will try Helena's diet of no sugar

Now I'm really scared...

I was curious about why Basheera wasn't in level 2 of Ripped in 30, so I googled it.

Turns out they recorded them out of order, and after she (Basheera) recorded the level 4 she had to lay down and couldn't move... and she may or may not have had to go to the hospital.

However, in the little video Jillian made Basheera was smiling, and able to laugh a little for the camera... She just couldn't get up of the ground

Guys, Basheera is tough. If she couldn't handle it, I wonder if I can!
I'm a little scared :-/

2 for one!

Since my last post got deleted, (i think I swore too much in it) I will update you one the last two weeks.

I completed the walking every day! :)

I had two veggie meals! :)

I did my cardio! :)

I did not write a why I matter letter. :(

I did not do 30 min kick butt dvd twice. :(

I did not do level two. :(

It is so much harder to get the motivation to do it on my own. I like doing it on Monday nights,(could not last week, I was at work till 11:30) but between work, school, and housework I find it hard.

I will try harder.

Better late then never...

Am I right, or am I right? :-)

Well, last week I only did the Ripped in 30 DvD once... But I did the 30 day shred twice, which I think counts for something :-)

This week I did Ripped in 30 two times! One time was level one and the other was level two. So still a total of twice! Just not the correct level for each. LoL, oh well! And I'm with Amber. Scared of level 4

I did the heart rate up all three times! and I did two veggie meals. I'm counting my green drink as one of them. I think it works, it's packed with veggies! It had carrots, broccoli, spinach, celery, a lemon, strawberries and a pear... I feel like I'm forgetting a veggie... but anyway, a lot of stuff. And it was handfuls of carrots and spinach especially.

How did you guys do? Did you enjoy level 2? It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be!

A Few Days Late

Hey guys! I didn't blog on Tuesday because I spent all day in the airport. My husband Dave and I were in St. Louis visiting his sister and her family last week. Travelling made it so keeping up with everything was a bit more difficult, but I did pretty well considering! We left last Wednesday, so I did the ripped in 30 before I left (I ended up doing it 3 days in a row, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday). I also got my heart rate up 3 times last week (really it was more than 3 times, we had 6 of our nieces and nephew to hang out with all week... There was a ton of physical activity to keep up with!). I had one meal with vegetables as the main course (I ate that before I left) but seeing as I wasn't making the food when we were out of town, I didn't get two in. I did however eat a ton of vegetables each night at dinner, so i'm going to count that to complete the challenge (if I was at home last week I wouldn't count that as a meal but because it was the best I could do under the circumstance, I think it is fair... if anyone has a problem with it, let me know!).

I'm excited to be on level 2 of the ripped in 30, how did you guys like doing it? I really liked it, so far this is one of my favorite Jillian Michaels DVDs, though i'm a little scared to try level 4!

Season 4 Challenge 3

In case you are new:

Each week we are given two challenges. These challenges will start on Sunday and go through the following Saturday.

On our designated blogging days we'll let each other know how we did with the previous weeks challenges!

BE HONEST. If you failed the challenge, tell us why. If you rocked it, tell us how. Most importantly, tell us how you feel about it.

This week's challenges:

Physical: Heals! Find at least 2 times to wear heals this week; at least wear them while walking for at least a total of two hours during the week. They will help with your posture and tone your calves.

Emotional: Time capsule! Write yourself a letter about where you want to be at the end of this cycle and why (make it upbeat and positive), keep it safe and read it at the end of this season!

AND remember our continual challenge this season is to do the Ripped in 30 DVD twice each week.

Good luck!

I meant to write this sooner...

I really did! I just had so much to do the last few days, I let blogging get away from me

But I'm pleased with how I did on last weeks challenges!
I did the Ripped in 30 twice last week, I wrote my "Why I Matter" letter and I walked everyday!

I was like Amber and sometimes remembered at the worst times, and I also didn't want to do any other workouts... However, since I've been helping Bryn workout as well, I did the 30 Day Shred too.

I've been working out quite a bit lately.

I'm doing alright with my dairy challenge, however in all honesty I had two cheat days this week :-P
For Michael's mom's Birthday we had fondue on Memorial Day... and I just couldn't pass it up.

How are you guys doing on your diets? Have you been doing the Ripped in 30 twice a week?
I'm with Amber and a little worried about doing level 2 next Monday...

Annie, age 29

About Annie

With everything I am responsible for at home, my ridiculous work schedule and my health problems, it makes it hard to keep working out on the front burner. But when I heard about this blog, I thought 'why not!'. I'm excited to get started and hopefully I won't die of exhaustion when this is all over!

Heléna, age 26

About Helena

I can't fit into my clothes! After getting married and being forced to eat my own cooking, I started gaining weight. The desk job didn't really help. I gained 30 lbs in the past year, and I can really feel it when I try to get dressed in the morning. I am really good at starting diet and exercise programs; but really bad at finishing them. And that's all about to change...
